Maurine and Jamie D. have seen many beautiful areas since they’ve been coming to northern Michigan, but when they came across the property now known as The Bluffs on Manistee Lake RV Resort, on the northwest side of the state, they knew they had found something truly special and that they needed to share it with others.
The tranquility of the setting and the charming, relaxed town of Manistee were two points that sold the couple on the idea of creating an upscale RV resort in northwest Michigan.
“We loved going up north to relax, but after a while the crowds and traffic began to have the opposite effect,” said Maurine. “That’s one of the greatest things about Manistee—all the natural beauty without too many people to crowd out the sights.”
When deciding on the feel of the RV resort and amenities to offer, the couple decided to go with what makes them comfortable when traveling. The clubhouse features a serving kitchen, gathering room, games, laundry room, spacious pool, hot tub and spotless restrooms and showers for freshening up after a game or two of pickleball.
The Bluffs on Manistee Lake is located about an hour from Traverse City, two hours north of Grand Rapids and under four hours from Detroit. The RV resort is open to adults 55+ with Class A, Class C, fifth wheels and travel trailers, provided they are 10 years or newer and a minimum of 28′ in length. RVs older than 10 years must be approved by management. All sites are oversized (55’ wide x 85’-100’deep) with 50 amp full hook-up, city water and sewer, large cement patios, many with decorative stamped concrete. Limited number of pull-thru sites are also available.
