Jean was in sales and real estate before coming to own a home at The Bluffs, after her husband passed away. “It’s a beautiful area, ideal for people 55 plus,” she said. She purchased the original model of the Cottage, and loves every nook and cranny of it. The one level home with its immaculate white kitchen, two bedrooms, one bath and lots of windows appealed to Jean the moment she saw it.
But more than anything, it is the community and the friends she’s made that makes The Bluffs on Manistee Lake so special for Jean and many others. “I sit on my front porch, wave and visit with my neighbors. I’ve made some great friends who are more like family now,” she said. Our outgoing and friendly onsite manager, Barry, has become one of those friends. Always smiling and helpful, he and Jean enjoy great conversations and even some homecooked meals.
The town of Manistee was also a big draw for her. “Manistee is making it very convenient for older people. The city has a new senior center and senior transportation options along with shops, restaurants and more. Manistee is coming alive!”
“Moving here was the smartest thing I could have done,” she said.
