Manistee River Trail

Welcome to Northern Michigan’s idyllic Manistee County. This area is the quintessential location for nature lovers and fishermen alike where you can enjoy  the miles of beautiful beaches along Lake Michigan, inland lakes and charming historical towns.

Manistee County offers 100’s of miles of Michigan’s best biking and hiking trails, extending through Manistee National Forest and along the Lake Michigan coastline.  Avid bird watchers will take delight at the Lake Bluff Bird Sanctuary, as well.

With its Victorian-era charm, Downtown Manistee is an eclectic mix of retail shops, galleries and restaurants. An ever popular visitor spectacle is watching massive Great Lake Freighters navigate through the narrow Manistee River Channel, along the Riverwalk.

Journey to nearby Fifth Avenue Beach and explore the Manistee North Pierhead Lighthouse on the west end of the North Pier. Stroll the pier and savor a breathtaking Michigan sunset over Lake Michigan.

With golfing, shopping, dining and museums so conveniently located to The Bluffs on Manistee Lake, there are plenty of activities to choose from in our part of “The Mitten”.

Come discover Manistee County…It is Pure Michigan!
